The environmental program “Where does garbage go” coordinated between JISSEN Women’s University, Tokyo, Japan, ID International Education JSC, and Brighter Vietnam (under UNESCO Centre for International Education) ended fruitfully. The Japanese friends appreciated the discussion with students from the School of Environmental Sciences and Technology (under Hanoi University of Technology) – the main activity of program. Through this workshop, they learned even more about handling, sorting and recycling of garbage in case of Vietnam and Japan. After that, the Japanese students can understand the outstanding difficulties in solving the garbage problem in Vietnam as the self-consciousness of people, resources waste (in Vietnam, the amount of garbage dispose up to 78%). And Vietnamese students can know about the reduce measures and waste disposal in Japan - one of the most leading countries in waste handling. After the overview, through the group discussions, they together unleash their personal opinions about measures to the 4R - reduce, recycle, reuse and recovery.
In addition to the activities related to the main theme of the program, the delegation also had the opportunity to visit and explore the beauty of Vietnam capital – Hanoi – the old city with thousands years of civilization. Visiting and communicating with the Hoa Sua School for disadvantaged Youth, a humanitarian organization working for helping young disadvantaged and disabled throughout Vietnam.
